Ian manages CapGen to ensure that the firm continues to be a good investor and trustworthy partner for its clients. He is at the centre of ensuring that the firm’s steady growth allows it to retain and attract the best talent, and deploy the best technology to invest our Clients portfolios. Having seen the inside of both public and private sector organisations, he understands the importance of both purpose and profit. A great firm needs both. He sits on all the firm’s decision taking committees. Ian began his career at Smith Barney Corporate Finance advising on structured finance and mergers & acquisitions. He also spent time in the British Army and the Diplomatic Service where he served in the UK and abroad. He has an MA in history from Oxford University and an MSc (Distinction) in Management from London Business School.
